You may have heard the saying, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” While that’s true, if we’re not careful, what doesn’t kill us can eat us up with bitterness, resentment or even fear.
Today, be aware of your thoughts. Pay special attention to those thoughts that make you feel angry, those thoughts that tell you that you should feel offended, or those thoughts that fill you with shame and regret.
Instead, be grateful that you had the strength to live through the tough times. Use what you’ve been through to make you “stand a little taller.” You’re a survivor. You are here today living and breathing and your life has meaning and purpose. Today, embrace your strength.
“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”
– Mohandas Gandhi
