Sarah also has The Simple Abundance Journal of Gratitude which I was given long ago. I came across it the other day and was moved by her list of "150 Often Overlooked Blessings." Similar to my Totally Awesome Things post from a few months ago, here are just a few of my favourite overlooked blessings from Sarah's list:
The dream that will not die because you were born to love it into full being.
The warmth and security of home. Crossing the threshold and closing the door after a hard day.
Following your intuition and being delighted that you did.
Acceptance after struggle.
Completely and utterly surrendering to what is and then waiting expectantly for the good that is to come.
Doing a great job and having your efforts appreciated.
The beach. The feel of the sand beneath your feet, the salty breeze, the warming rays of the sun.
Trying something new and loving it.
The aroma of something delicious wafting from the kitchen.
Letting go gracefully without regrets.
Hearing a piece of music that instantly touches your soul.
Realizing there are no coincidences.
Reading a book that changes your life.
Sharing your aspirations for the future with a close friends :-)
Something Sarah does not have on her list is being able to visit with your 101 year old grandmother and hold her hand as she looks into your eyes, smiles and thanks you for your visit. Knowing that you made her day just by sitting and listening to her.
